Brunswick Golden Isles Airport is served by Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) Delta Connection, which offers four daily roundtrip flights to AtlantaÕs Hartsfield Jackson International Airport via Canadair regional jets. Travel time to and from Atlanta is just 37 minutes.

 

Jacksonville International Airport

Brunswick residents are also among the more than 5 million passengers traveling through The Jacksonville International Airport in northeast Florida every year. Located just minutes from downtown Jacksonville, JIA provides non-stop flights to major U.S. cities, including those serving as international gateways. More than a dozen major airlines and a network of regional carriers provide some 200 daily arrivals and departures at JIA.  Drive time from Brunswick is approximately 45 minutes.

Satilla Marsh Elementary SchoolSatilla Marsh Elementary

Satilla Marsh Elementary School opened in the fall of 1997 and is among the newest K-5th grade facilities in the Glynn County System. Approximately 660 students are enrolled and taught curriculum based on the Georgia Performance Standards adopted by the State of Georgia, as well as locally adopted objectives. Satilla Marsh encourages the active involvement of parents, guardians, mentors, and volunteers in our school program.

 

Risley Middle School

Risley Middle School is named for Douglas Gilbert Risley, a lieutenant in the Union Army who was sent to Brunswick in 1867 to serve as head of the "Bureau of Refugees, Freedman, and Abandoned Land." A former high school for approximately 20 years, the school was rechristened a middle school 1975. Recent achievements include being named a Georgia Public School of Excellence.

 

Glynn Academy High School

On February 1, 1788, Glynn AcademyÕs original one-room campus was created by an act of the General Assembly of Georgia, making it the second-oldest high school in Georgia. More than 200 years later the campus has changed drastically. After being renovated in 1999 the two block campus is comprised of six buildings, dozens of classrooms, two gyms, a weight room and a cafeteria. The mission at Glynn Academy is to guarantee that its students are provided with superior instruction, resources, environment and guidance to ensure top quality graduates with life-long learning skills.

Located in Glynn County, the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center is a 316-bed full service, not-for-profit hospital that serves the health care needs of the residents of thirteen counties in its primary, secondary and tertiary markets. Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center was named the State of GeorgiaÕs best overall healthcare facility in 2005.

boaterBecause of our warm climate, those who come to Brunswick and the Golden Isles are able to enjoy outdoor activities all year long. The winters are short and mild, with the average temperature in January falling only to 53 degrees.

Brunswick boasts 216 holes at the most beautiful, pro-designed golf courses. There are 69 public and private tennis courts, among them acrylic, concrete, Laykold, Har-Tru, Rubico and clay.

BrunswickÕs coastal waters are perfect for boating, sailing, fishing, skiing, parasailing, diving, snorkeling and a number of local charters offer diving and sailing excursions. The beautiful Georgia coast offers inshore, offshore, Gulfstream and deep-sea, trolling, bottom fishing or flounder gigging.
